"The Little Stoic Army is on a mission to share wisdom and kindness. This project exists to take the heavy lifting out of ancient philosophy and make it light, fun, and approachable."
The journey toward Marcus Furrelius began in the high-pressure world of tech and software engineering. Navigating 20 years in product roles and a personal path to sobriety required a solid anchor. Stoicism became that anchor.
What started as a personal list of favorite quotes to stay grounded eventually turned into a mission. The goal was to trade the complexity of modern stress for the clarity of Stoic thought. Instead of dusty textbooks, the idea was to build a mental space where anyone can find tools to stay calm and present.
The real shift happened after taking in a community cat from the St. Elmo neighborhood. He became the inspiration for the character Marcus Furrelius.
Marcus is a philosophical cat version of Marcus Aurelius. He believes that while we cannot control the world around us, we can always control how we respond to it. Marcus and his friends help bring these lessons into everyday situations through animated shorts.
